Movable Scaffolding System (MSS)
The MSS system provides the completion of the works by reaching from foot to foot with the help of machinery and equipment to manufacture the decks of viaducts and bridges.
With this system, 40% of the concrete and steel amounts are saved compared to other methods.
MSS Systems of KAPPA;
In the KAPPA’s Inventory of machinery; There are 2 MSS Systems: MSS-90 and MSS-55.
MSS-90
It is used for the construction of bridges with span of 90 meters or less.
MSS-90, especially on high viaducts and difficult terrains, completes the footing by completing the feet with 90-meter opening without any help from below.
As can be understood from the name of MSS-90, it can manufacture 90 meters span, this length has not been done before and it has been applied for the first time in the world. Previously, bridges with a maximum span of 70 meters were made with the MSS system.
MSS-90 Properties
MSS-90 weighs approximately 1400 tons with all its equipment. There are 2 ceiling cranes on it. It senses the load on it through OPS system and keeps the same level by stretching itself with the help of prestressed ropes.
MSS-90 Application
It proceeds on the flooring with the help of strands. After the progress is completed, the molds on it are closed and beforehand prepared precast steel with a (U) section is carried by the truck accros the deck and mounted on the molds.
MSS-55
It is used in the construction of bridges with a span of 55 meters or less.
The total weight of the MSS-55 with all its equipment (mold etc.) is about 900 tons.
MSS provides foot-to-foot progress by providing its own advancement on the bridge with the help of strand.
After the advancement, the molds on the MSS are closed and the steel assembly is completed and the concrete is poured.
The most important feature of MSS during concrete casting is that the OPS system detects the load on the machine and keeps the machine at the same level continuously.
After concrete casting, post-tensioning works are completed, MSS is advanced to the next opening. 45-meter deck manufacturing of MSS was completed in approximately 8 days.
After concrete pouring, with the help of steam curing, strengthening is achieved in about 10 hours, and post-tensioning works are completed.
